In the last ten years or so, since I started working with pencils, I have become able to enjoy the changes in vibes I observe with my works, which have increased the density and become more intimate as I draw lines carefully.

About Tsubasa Fukuzaki

Tsubasa Fukuzaki was born in Yamagata Prefection in 1982. He completed his Master course of Fine Art in Painting at Tsukuba University in Japan. In 2013, he received a Grand Prize from Miyamoto Saburo Memorial Museum “The 2nd Miyamoto Saburo Drawing Competition.” In, 2016  Tsubasa participated in the “ENOIE Project” Imai Landscape  Design Center, Kashihara and in 2017, he has received Grand Prize “The 1st Arts Meet Okitama” in Naseba, Yonezawa.

Tsubasa Fukuzaki first exhibition outside of Japan

In 2020, Tsubasa Fukuzaki had his first two-person exhibition outside of Japan. The exhibition took place at Execute Project in Dallas/Mesquite, Texas. Exhibition titled “Painting in House” presented figurative paintings by Tsubasa.

What Tsubasa Fukuzaki has to say about her work?

“Desire to clarify details, such as shapes and the feelings when touching it, in addition to the very motif of the work such as people, animals, and flowers, seems to have been already in me when I was very young.

These stories and myths (in painting) are essentially linking to the world structure. I am strongly attracted to this enormous amount of information. These “things” are held in reality in front of my eyes.”

About Hiroaki Kano

Hiroaki Kano was born in 1983 in Yamagate Prefection in Japan. In 2010, he completed Tsukuba University Postgraduate School and graduated wirh Doctor’s Degree in Art Studies. The same year, he went to Florence, Italy for overseas study program for emerging artists run by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In 2013, Hiroaki had an exhibition at the Taro Okamoto Art Museum for the 16th Taro Okamoto Contemporary Art Award Exhibition.
His first solo exhibition took place at The Sato Museum of Art (Tokyo), in 2015. In 2018, Hiroaki Kano had a solo Exhibition “Hiroaki Kano – SCAFFOLDING” at Museum of Mogamigawa, Yamagata.

What Hiroaki Kano has to say about his work?

“We live in a variety of environments: the city environment is filled with various artifacts, the natural environment in which plants and animals live, our body’s internal environment that sustains our lives, and the world network environment that is made possible by the Internet. These environments that surround us are full of various “things.” When we pay closer attention to these “things,” we notice that there are systems and histories created by humans. These stories and myths are essentially linking to the world structure. I am strongly attracted to this enormous amount of information.
